What I have done

      What I have done when I was in Columbus.  This is the page that graphically summarize my design in NBBJ between 2002 - 2006.  Looking back, most of the building is built.  However, I still have not visit any of them in person.  It is not that I do not want to visit them, it is about the corporate strucutre...... always a problem.

Something Fun !!!

      I think this is a pretty "hot" knife set.  It is an art piece rather than a knife set.

     This speaker makes me laugh.  Brillant Design.  The sound quality is actually very good.  Thank you my wife for suggesting putting nuts in front of it when I take this photo.  I wonder what is a good way to show it is a bird and at the same time, it is a speaker ?  I think this photo speaks for itself.

Toronto :: Start from the Beginning

        Learn about Toronto.  The Toronto that is new to me.

        I will move back to Toronto if I can have a view like this.  I wonder what will it look
          like during winter !

Giant Pencil Sharpener

       Giant pencil sharpener which is a pencil holder.  It is a very interesting idea. 

       I kind of miss those days that I am still using the tiny little pencil sharpener when i
       was drafting.  It is so small and still do the job. 

       Compare to those big electronic sharpener today....

       This little guy is very well design...... 

Farmer's Market

 

Farmer's Market at Hollywood. Every Sunday. I always want to take some street photography and here is a good chance. I particularly like the "lady with dogs" photo. She is kind enough to let me take photo of her and she even asks the dog to look at the camera....

Bokehlicious Munny in Action

       I was cleaning my house and find some very old small scale plastic toy guns that I
       bought when I was 10 years old.  I can't believe that I keep it till now.  Before I may
       throw it away, I want to take a photo of it. 

       The photo may be a little bit dry if it is just a plastic gun on a table......... so I put them
       on my Munny toy.. It just work perfect....

        I am using my new 45mm F1.8 lens... Bokehlicious..
  

Gear. Travel.

I always wonder how many items that I need to carry when I am traveling.  No matter is it for work or for leisure.  This is how many things that I am carrying. 

May be just one laptop instead of two;
May be just one camera with one or two lens 
May be just a ipad instead a real note book
May be no mouse at all.  

However, there are still a lot to carry around.  I can't find any good bag design out there that can fit this all   I need a customized bag to hold all this. 

May be I should start design one NOW...



Folding Bike_Another way to go to work.

  

I have been looking at this folding bike for a while.  Finally, it is on sale and I bought it.  Today, I gave it try and ride it on the street.  Father and son walked by.........

Son:  Dad, what is this?
Father: It is a bike.

My wife: He is a big kid, but he does not know it is a bike ?
Me: That's why I bought this bike...................


By the way, this is a strida LT folding bike.  It is quite popular in Asia.   I just think the design is very unique and interesting. 

  

  

  



SPAIN.BARCELONA.ARCHITECTURE

      Barcelona.......Nothing to say about it.. Just love it.

       Forum Building by Herzog & De Meuron - Great form with unexpected moment....... 
       It needs some serious "clean up". 

       Not a normal soffit that you see everyday... it is great.

       With daylight.. it is even better.

   

       Torre Agbar by Jean Nouvel - Colourful and it is smaller than I thought......



       Torre Diagonal Zero Zero - I like this building the most, may be I just like it... White.

       It is a brave design.  Old on the left.. Modern on the right.... What will you do....

       That's how you do it.....It needs a brave and talented designer and a brave client who has

       taste.

       Simple, Simple, Simple,  Barcelona Pavilion....

       It is cool... It makes me wonder do I want wood slot blocking my view in the office?

SPAIN.MADRID.NIGHT

    Just come back from my vacation.  Madrid, Barcelona and Nice.  My friend told me that the city was OK.  After I visited the city, I think it is more than OK.  It is quite amazing.  I like it a lot.

Donkey

 

   I bought this little donkey from CB2 today.   They are called Zuny.  There

   are a set of animcal collection............I am going to collect them 1 by 1.

Muji Design

   You need a surface to write on, that's paper

   You need something to write, that's pen or pencil

   Let's put it together.. always...............................

   I submitted this design for Muji Award in 2002.  I did not win.  May be it is too stupid, or  

   may be it is being done already.  To the extreme, "who use pencil and paper now days" ? 

   Anyways, I still want to have this on my desk.  It is my way of living.
